Frequently Asked Question

Why do I sometimes get a security warning while accessing my Control Panel?
Last Updated 10 years ago

When you access your hosting or email control panel you may get a warning to advise you there is a problem, or issue, with the security certificate. The warning comes up because our SSL certificates are self signed. This means that the certificate was not issued by an independent security authority, like Equifax, or Verisign. As such, the certificate cannot be independently verified.

The benefit of using self signed SSL certificates is that it creates an encrypted case around the information (data) you submit. This ensures that the passwords, and other data, you type in and send to us cannot be read by unintended parties.

If your browser gives you the option of saving the certificate, we suggest you save it so that you want continue to see the warnings.
